GP11 8705

Unknown Photographer

This unit started as New Haven GP9 1225, built in August of 1956.  When the New Haven was swallowed up by Penn Central, it became PC 7555.  It then went on to become MBTA 7555.  ICG acquired it and rebuilt it to GP11 8705, being released from the Paducah Shops in July of 1979.  It was later painted into the new IC's black and white scheme.  It was sold to Joseph Transportation Inc. on November 11th of 2001, being assigned to Metro-East Industries at East St. Louis, Illinois.

Notes:  Eventually had orange sills and white numbers on the cab.  Note the lack of a "GP11" tag.  Tags weren't applied until the 8710 unit.

Date in Solid Orange: July 10th 1979 - ??
